WCRF Announces Application for Director Openings


Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) is now taking applications to fill three director positions. The director terms will expire January 1, 2023.  To view the application Click Here.

The board will accept applications from residents of Washington or Kalona. WCRF would also note that directors do not represent the areas where they live or work but represent the entire Washington County area.

Eligible persons should also be aware that they will be required to undergo an extensive background check by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation and be required to attend meetings at different locations around the county. Both meeting time and travel is uncompensated as this a volunteer position.

The deadline for submitting applications is August 15, 2019.



The WCRF Board delivered a $7,300.00 "SURPRISE GRANT" to Blair House in Washington. Emergency asbestos abatement was the reason for the grant.

Michael Vincent




WCRF welcomes Michael Vincent of Keota to the Board of Directors.
Michael is the Owner/CEO of Wooden Wheel Vineyards just outside of Keota in Washington County. Mike brings extensive leadership experience to our board of directors. He has served as the President of the Iowa Wine Growers, Altoona Park & Rec Chairman, Advisory Committee Member for IA Area Schools, Office of International Development (OICD) and International Scientific Exchange Council (ISEC). Mike began his three year board term in January.

      WCRF Announces Spring Grant Winners


The Washington County Riverboat Foundation is pleased to announce 13 grants totaling $628,723.00 through the Competitive Grant Program.  

The WCRF Board of Directors made the decision on grant awards at the May 15th Board Meeting at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort.

WCRF Now Accepting Mini Grant Applications

Washington County Riverboat Foundation 2019 Mini Grant Application is now available. Mini Grant applications are limited to a maximum of $2,000. Mini Grants are catered to small non-profit organizations who would like to do a special project. Applications are due in our office by 5:00pm on June 12, 2019.  To view guidelines and the application Click Here.

Congratulations Jim Logan!


Longtime Executive Assistant Jim Logan retired today from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. He had been with the Foundation since January 2007. Jim helped create and implement policies and procedures for thousands of grant award recipients that have touched all of Washington County and beyond. We are deeply grateful for Jim's work with the Riverboat Foundation. Jim will now have more time to spend with his beautiful family. Best wishes!


2019 Spring Grants

Now taking applications for Spring!



The Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) is pleased to announce that the application for the Spring 2019 Grant Period is now available. The WCRF would advise all applicants to review the guidelines before filing their application.The deadline for this period's application is 5:00 pm on April 3, 2019.

Applications that are received before March 22nd will be reviewed for any errors. Applications with errors received after March 22nd may not be accepted.
